CPAC 2023: the Republican presidential race can begin

Everything is ready in Washington to welcome the most important event of the American Republican party, the CPAC. From 1 to 4 March, the American capital will be the political hub of the US Conservative Party, which is sharpening its weapons to prepare for the next presidential elections in 2024. As has already happened in past years, Prime Minister Meloni’s relative majority party, Fdi, will be present with a dense delegation of representatives. The large delegation will be led by the ECR Secretary General and deputy of Fratelli d’Italia Antonio Giordano, together with the members of the European Parliament Nicola Procaccini — newly elected ECR co-president — and Carlo Fidanza, the deputies Manlio Messina -Vice Pres. FDI group-, Federico Mollicone -pres. Culture Commission-, Mauro Rotelli -pres. Commission-Environment-, Gianluca Caramanna -Production Activities Group Leader-, Fabio Roscani -Pres. National Youth and Fabio Pietrella -Pres. Confartigianato Moda, Andrea Di Giuseppe — elected in the foreign constituency — and the senators Elena Leonardi, Paola Ambrogio, Paolo Marcheschi and Simona Petrucci. Prime Minister Meloni also took part in the last edition, in Orlando, Florida. Her speech was much applauded and for some it was an important first step in gaining credit for the upper echelons of US politics. This year Meloni, who will not be present at the event, for obvious reasons, has nevertheless sent some of her loyal followers, who will attend the meeting, which many consider as a sort of pre-convention of the party, in…
